Redefining Retirement

The baby boomer generation will continue to redefine retirement. We have been blessed to witness so many changes and advancements that have impacted our lives. Besides a few hiccups along the way, we have been blessed with great economic times. Many of us started work at a young age and developed good work ethics. Too many people worked so long and hard they didn’t find time to plan retirement. As a result, there is a growing population working into their 70’s and beyond. Some because they want to and others because they have to. 

The Future For Boomers

The financial and insurance industry have done countless studies concerning the boomer generation and for obvious reasons. One study showed that only a slight majority have retirement savings. Other findings paint a grim picture for many heading into retirement years. 

Still another study, that makes sense, found a majority of people who have used professional financial advisors have saved more than those who saved on their own. Thus are better prepared and feel more confident about their retirement.

The frightening statistic is that of the percentage of boomers that have little or no savings for retirement. The good news is that many of those people still have time to prepare and save.

Stay Positive

Financial and retirement planning can be complicated and overwhelming, especially doing it on your own. There is more to retirement than just financial planning.
